5 Ways to Incorporate Hydration into your Daily Routine!

We know, Life gets busy. Time flies by throughout the day and we often forget to keep hydrated, but we’re only human! It’s not always easy to prioritize our water intake, but SoL is here to help. Keeping your body hydrated is essential to regulating your body temperature, keeping your vital organs active and circulating blood - meaning that if you are not hydrated enough, your mind and body will not function properly.

Read along to learn more about the importance of staying hydrated and our favourite ways to incorporate hydration into your daily routine! It is recommended that the average adult must try to drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. To some that might sound unachievable but with these quick tips you will become your best, most hydrated self!

  1. Don’t wait till you’re thirsty to drink. Did you know that by the time you feel thirsty, you’re already slightly dehydrated? Sip water steadily throughout the day and drink more fluids than usual when the weather is hot, especially if you’re active
  2. Always take your water bottle with you! Make sure to take a water bottle with you to stay hydrated on the go. Whether you're off to the gym, to work or just out and about, make sure you have a bottle of water in your hand.   3. Flavor your water. If plain water doesn't tickle your taste, add some flavors with a splash of fresh fruit like sliced lemon or some berries, fresh mint and some ice! Lemon water is also a great way to boost vitamin C and metabolism, a win-win!
  4. Set reminders! By making a conscious effort to stay hydrated, you will incorporate staying hydrated into your daily routine. If you struggle to remember to drink water, try setting a reminder in your phone or download water drinking apps. This way you will always be held accountable!
